Community Mediation

The Kern County Mediation Center can help you resolve a variety of common problems and disputes even if you have not filed a lawsuit.

• Neighbor Disputes: noise, fences, pets, trees, property damage, and harassment
   
• Landlord-Tenant Disputes: security deposit refunds, rent increases, landlord notices, maintenance and repair, rule enforcement
   
• Consumer-Merchant Disputes: quality of services, delays in providing goods and services, billing and payments, refunds and exchanges
   
• Interpersonal Disputes: private party sales of vehicles and other personal property, division of property or debts of former roommates, repayment of personal loans, personal relationships
   
• Injuries and Property Damage: auto accidents, dog bites, "slip-and-falls," medical bills

These services are free if at least one of the parties is a Kern County resident or business and the dispute involves $10,000 or less.
