BBB Mediation Services Staff Members

Laurelyn Irving, B.S., M.S., Ph.D., came to the BBB with 25 years of experience in university administration, which involved training staff how to resolve conflicts. She received her Bachelor of Science from Purdue University, her Masters’ in Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Texas.
Laurelyn earned her mediation certification at the Dispute Resolution Center in Austin, Texas. She has had training in classroom mediation and victim/offender reconciliation from The Center for Peacemaking at Fresno Pacific University. She volunteered in the Bakersfield Superior Court for a year before joining the BBB as a full-time staff member. Laurelyn has mediated small claims, unlawful detainers, family, workplace disputes, civil harassment and probate cases. She is also the Court Liaison for the Kern County Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute.
